Privacy policy

Who we are

TapMoji is a game application (mobile and web). The controller of your personal data is the TapMoji publisher, reachable at contact@tapmoji.com. A postal address or company identifier can be provided on request where required by law.

Data we collect

Depending on whether you use an account or guest mode, we may process:

• User account: email address, password (handled by Firebase Authentication), display name shown in the game or on the leaderboard
• Game data: scores, selected emoji, unlocked emojis, “taps” balance, preferences (light/dark theme, 360° mode, sound, language)
• Technical data: Firebase user identifier, timestamps related to server-side records (e.g. submitting high scores via Cloud Functions and secure services), and the date of your last display-name change (to enforce a change frequency limit of about once every six months), processed via Cloud Functions
• In-app purchases: when you buy packs or digital content in the app, payment and validation are handled by Google Play or Apple depending on your platform. We do not store your full bank details; information about the transaction (e.g. purchase id, product) may be tied to your account or device to deliver what you bought.

In guest mode, without creating an account, data generally stays on your device or is limited to what is strictly necessary to display the game on the web; no full profile is tied to an account.

Purposes and legal bases

We use this data to:

• Provide the service (session creation, saving progress) — performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps
• Show a leaderboard and nicknames linked to scores — legitimate interest (you may object under the conditions provided by applicable law)
• Keep the service secure and prevent abuse — legitimate interest
• Respond to your requests (access, erasure) — legal obligation or exercise of your rights

Recipients and subprocessors

Data is hosted and processed using Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions for secure server-side logic, including scores), in line with Google’s privacy policy. Data may be processed outside your country (including outside the European Economic Area) under safeguards recognised by applicable law (e.g. standard contractual clauses).

Retention

Data linked to your account is kept while the account is active. You may request deletion of your account and related data; some records may be retained as required by law or to defend our rights.

You can delete your account and associated data directly in the game (Android or iOS mobile app) from your profile settings — without using this website. The steps below are the in-game flow. Email below is only a fallback if you cannot use the app (lost device, technical issue, etc.).

In the game (Android / iOS) — primary method

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Open the Profile screen.
3. Tap Delete profile and confirm.

Deletion removes your game data on our servers first (via secure services), then your authentication account. This action is irreversible.

If you cannot use the app

Email contact@tapmoji.com from the account email (or clearly state the account email) and request account and associated data deletion. We will process the request within a reasonable time.

Data deleted

When deletion succeeds: profile, scores, taps balance, unlocked emojis, synced preferences, and data tied to your identifier in Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database), as permitted by our architecture and security rules.

Data that may be kept

Some information may be kept where law requires it, or in a minimal form to defend our rights (e.g. limited technical logs). Payment data for in-app purchases is processed by Google Play or Apple; retention follows their policies and your rights with the platform.

Your rights and authorities

European Union (GDPR): where the GDPR applies, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability where applicable. You may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country; a list of EEA authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. In France: CNIL.

United Kingdom: if UK law applies, similar rights may apply and you may lodge a complaint with the ICO.

California and other US states: residents covered by applicable laws (e.g. CCPA/CPRA-style laws) may have the right to request access to or deletion of certain personal information collected.

Children and minimum age

TapMoji is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction to consent alone to data processing). If you believe a minor has provided data without parental authorisation, contact us at the address above.

In-app purchases (packs)

The app may offer in-app purchases (for example packs of content). Purchases are optional: you can play without buying. They are billed and managed by Google Play or the App Store; terms and any right of withdrawal depend on platform rules and applicable law.

Advertising (Android / iOS mobile apps)

The mobile app may show rewarded ads (e.g. to continue after a game over), served through Google AdMob. Google may process technical and ad-related data under Google’s privacy policy and the ad network’s rules. You can adjust privacy and advertising settings on your device or Google account. The web version of the game does not include these AdMob ads.

Cookies and local storage (web version)

The mobile app does not use cookies in the usual web sense. The browser version may use local storage or similar mechanisms (e.g. to keep your Firebase session or preferences) as needed for the service. We do not embed third-party web ad banners in the web version as described here. For advertising on mobile, see the “Advertising” section above.

Security

We apply server-side access rules (especially for scores and the leaderboard) to limit unauthorised tampering. No system is 100% secure.

Changes

This policy may be updated. The date at the top will change; for material changes we may notify you in the app or on this site.
